In this retreat, we will explore the teaching of The Three Visions , one of the foundational texts of the Sakya tradition. It offers a detailed mapping of the Buddhist path through three levels of vision: impure vision, experiential vision, and pure vision. Through meditation, contemplation, and study, we will investigate how these levels of perception transform our way of relating to reality and open us to a deeper and more liberating understanding.
We will begin by examining impure vision, the habitual way we experience the world from attachment, aversion, and ignorance. We will observe how afflictive emotions and projections distort our perception, generating dissatisfaction and suffering. Then, we will explore experiential vision, in which the practitioner begins to see reality more clearly, recognizing the interdependence of phenomena and the illusory nature of appearances.
