discovering the potential
of our mind:

Easter retreat 2022

From April 12 to 17

Mingyur Rinpoche says that the essence of Buddhism is not to make ourselves better people, but to discover the potential of our mind. In fact, this statement is very common among Buddhist teachers, and it is that they emphasize that, in reality, there is nothing to change about ourselves: what we long to change already is, already is . We just have to get rid of habits and patterns that entangle our potential. Otherwise, as Lama Norbu puts it: "As long as we don't observe how the mind works, we will only be victims of how the mind works."

This activity can be done completely (from 12 to 17) or only a part (from 15 to 17):

The  From April 12 to 15 we will dedicate ourselves fundamentally to meditation, to reduce the speed and noise of our minds. In this way, we will have prepared ourselves to receive the teachings in a much more effective and profound way.

From 15 in the afternoon to 17 in the afternoon, the teachings, debate and discussion will take on greater prominence. This part of the activity can be followed  online from home.

In this way, we will follow the classical learning method in Buddhism: listening, contemplation and meditation. Listening refers to exposure to what the teachings or teachers have said - or say - and understanding it on an intellectual level. Contemplation involves seeing how what we have learned during exposure to the Dharma affects us personally: it is about rooting the Dharma in our lives. Meditation involves either getting used to dwelling in the truth of these teachings or paving the way for us to better receive these teachings.

who imparts

Lama Norbu is the director, founder and resident teacher of Casa Virupa. When he finished his studies, he began to train exclusively in Dharma, both in philosophy, meditation and rituals of the Sakya school. In February 2020 HH Gongma Trichen Rinpoche appointed him lama  (teacher) of the Sakya school. His clarity and communicative ability, his ability to capture the essence of the teachings and transfer them to a current audience, as well as his sensitivity to empathize, characterize him.
